Good Morning China - Nostradamus prophecies

An oriental army will reach Europe and an all out war will follow. This is the message conveyed by the quatrain 2.29:

The seer is quite clear and precise about the Oriental in the following parts. He depicts a period of popular uprising, the fall of monarchies (the whites), the instatement of some republican forms of governments, some of them being communist, and religious persecutions that get worse as the Oriental expands his powers. Over 2/3 of these events have already taken place during the 20th Century:

The supporting common people [plebs] will rise up and chase out the adherents of the legislators, and it will seem, as the countires will be weakened by the Orientals [Asians], that God the Creator has set Satan free from the prisons of hell to give birth to the great Dog and Doham, who will make such an abominable breach in the Churches that neither the reds nor the whites left without eyes and hands will know what to make of it, & their power will be taken from them. H061 Then will start more Churches persecution than ever was before.

The English word "dog" takes several dimensions in the French text. First, the seer uses it to designate the evil empire of Gog in the East. At one point in the Centuries, he refers to its leader as the “Great Dog”. Next, Doham is the inverse of Mahod, which obviously means Magog and stands for the powers of the West. What should strike the English speaking reader is that Dog is God turned around, thus pointing to the devil, the red dragon of the Bible Revelations, which is the ferocious Beast that will persecute all religions. Still another dimension of the use of the word dog requires a background explanation of French. “Mastin” is an old French term that means “watchdog” and that has the connotation of a “beast”. The “s” remains silent while pronouncing making it sound like “matin” which means “morning”. This gives to “Gros Mastin”, at times "Grand Mastin" in the Centuries, the denotation of “Great Morning”. To finish, the seer sometimes uses "chien" instead that also meaning dog, and it is the anagram of "Chine" which in French is China.

In summary, “Grand Mastin” means “dog”, “beast”, it points to the “Great Morning” country and it is in French the anagram of “dog”. The following text implies that the "dog" represents traditional China while the "watchdog" concerns the advent of the antichrist there:

The Chinese Communists hold in reserve the greatest abominations against the Christians and other believers throughout the world that was ever witnessed on earth. And there will never be worse after that, God have mercy. Chinese prophecies give the same story and some astrologers locate the “eye of the Dragon” is Shanghai. A special attention should be given to the years of the dog and of the dragon.

The Great Morning country

Because of the high growth there, many American and European economists contend that China will reach a level of wealth comparable to that of the USA by the year 2038. But China will probably not wait that long before it starts challenging the US privileges. Its GDP grows at a rate of 8% per annum while the US increases by only 2.5%. Chinese GDP will topple the USA level while its per capita income is still 4/5th below. This is explained by the fact that China is 5 times more populated.

Only the raw figures matter on the international scene, and especially GDP because it enables national defense expenditure. Political unity is the next most important component that makes up the power of nations. Europe is a cruel illustration for this second point. Much richer than China, it has not yet managed to put together a space program that can send Europeans into space, nor has it been able to build a common defense system. In fact, Europeans do not take pride in such accomplishments because they do not yet have a sense of common identity. But this is not the case with the Great Morning (or should we read Mourning) country. It moved out of the group of third world nations some years ago and now ambitions to play a key role in world affairs.

These Chinese growth rates are an average of the Chinese government official statistics, the IMF and the World Bank figures. The 3 are not significantly different.

At first sight, the economic data is reassuring. With today’s growth rates, China will not become a major world power before the latter part of the 21rst Century, and the USA will be able to maintain its military and economic leadership in the world. But this story is biased because it only shows the nominal figures. Experienced economists know that the Chinese growth rate is in fact lower than shown by about 1/4, which is still a very good performance. This seems to be good news for the USA and the free world, but it’s not because of the currency gap.

*Currency gap: To obtain the real level of wealth and spending, a few corrections are required. With 15 dollars / day, it is possible to stay in a Beijing 4 stars hotel, plus to have dinner in a good restaurant, and still to ride a taxi cab back to the hotel. The same buy in the USA requires from 90 to $200, depending on the city. Thus, the currency gap ratio ranges from 90 / 15 to 200 / 15. In fact, the tourists and businessmen that return from China report a ratio of 5 in Beijing and Shanghai and higher in the rest of the country. However, goods do not all have an identical gap and an average is to be used to correct the figures.

This gap naturally decreases year after year as China improves its balance of payments, which causes the Yuan to rise vs. other currencies. As a result, Chinese goods and services become more expensive for foreigners by about 1 to 2.5% per year, while the real growth accounts for the remaining 5 to 7%. This could induce a loss of attractiveness for foreign investments, but it can be counteracted by increases in productivity. And in fact, the Chinese growth rates do not seem to decrease over time.

According to this linear projection, China will pass in front of the USA at an $18500 b GDP level during the year 2026. But changing the growth assumptions in either the USA or China can cause some big differences in the result and schedule. Even so, this situation is likely to take place sometime between the years 2020 and 2032 with a factor of 80% certainty.

Never in history two dominant countries have managed to occupy the same space without warring. France and England have remained at war for 800 years as they challenged one another for influence in Europe until the USA imposed itself as the main world power. The USA and USSR engaged in a 50 years war for the very same reasons. Before this, the Romans destroyed the Greek civilization. These struggles can be explained by an ancient human tribal instinct that was transposed to countries. It consists mainly in a basic unconscious drive for power and cultural (way of life) domination that condition kinship.The Chinese culture is thousands of years old and too far from the west for friendly relations to develop on a background of political rivalry.

This is an attempt to be rational about the Nostradamus prophecy, but there is no certainty that the events will be carried out in this way. Bad fate endured by humans has two possible origins. The first comes from these events that are not under the human control, like hurricanes, floods and meteorites. There is not much to do about them except for fleeing and praying as they come about no matter what. The second results from the human actions nourished with illusions. Their outcomes are uncertain but all protagonists are willing to take a chance. At best there is one looser and one winner. But in the case of a nuclear war, it will be only losers. This seems to be what the seer foretold for the world.

The Chinese commonly believe that their country is the center of the world while China’s short-term ambitions is to dominate Asia. Its sense of urgency consists in driving the GIs out of Afghanistan. But the Great Dog lurks the entire planet. His attack on Taiwan will start the great offensive that will extend to the doors of Europe. Pakistan and India will remain neutral because busy with each other over the issue of Cashmere. Their choice will be limited to the signing of a nonaggression pact with China. It should be noticed that all of the nonaggression treaties of history ended with a slightly differed attack.

The free capital flow system causes most of the problems. Investors consider China to be a heaven of abundant, skilled and cheap labor. But what they wish to forget is that this economically overdeveloping country has remained at the age of stone on the ground of human rights. With only 1/5 of the world population, 8 out of 10 deaths sentences take place in China, and they are politically motivated. Free speech does not exist, political dissension is repressed, elections are reserved for the communist party, jails are filled with political prisoners waiting for a trial, most religions are forbidden, Tibetans are being massacred, some entire populations are authoritatively displaced, abortion remains legal up to the 7th month of pregnancy and even mandatory in some cases beyond this point… and so on.

The awakening will be harsh for the Americans and Europeans that preferred their immediate comfort to the world’s continuity. And it will be just as bad for the industry tycoons when they see their investments confiscated on the day of the great offensive.
