Site Organization

In order to understand the Centuries, no tough mental construction is required but only method and a strong will. An extensive culture of civilizations and patient research also help. Computer tools now enable advances that were still impossible some 4 or 5 years ago. The World Wide Web gathers competencies. Word processors and databases enable to look for key words and to understand unknown vocabulary. And the reading order can be reorganized. The Centuries should soon deliver their secrets to the sharp code breakers that are looking for new challenges on the net.

The proposed "Times and Regions" are an axis for analysis. For each theme and sub-theme, several sets of quatrains have been gathered on the criteria of potential meaning and identified key words. Many quatrains are found in several themes when they deal with several subjects. The reference quatrains can be modified at Citizens' requests.

Citizens enter their comments and articles at the "Time and Region", sub-theme or quatrain level. The hyperlinks stick to an instinctive logic that guides the Citizens to the spot where their texts should be placed. Other Citizens comments can be seen and sorted in a number of ways.

This methodology differs from the usual ones. Related quatrains are not isolated. Others' perceptions are taken into account. The subjects that have little or no importance for Nostradamus are set aside. The quatrains are progressively placed back in their original order. Strange words are understood. There results more objectivity and a better analysis. And light will be made on remaining questions.

Quatrains numbering

An "H" or LH before the Quatrain number stands for "Lettre à Henry" (Letter to Henry the II, which most probably stands for the great future ruler). The "C" or LC is "Lettre à César" (Letter to Cesar, his son). The numbers correspond to the order of the segment in the original text. These numbers are very useful to precisely designate a part of the text Examples:

LH011

LC24

Letter to Henry

Letter to Cesar

Segment # 11

Segment #24

It appears that the two letters have been mixed since many segments of the Letter to Cesar seem to complete segments of the Letter to Henry. Therefore, this would be a good reason never to analyze them separately.

When there is no letter "H", "LH", "C" or "LC", the numbers refer to one of the 1000 quatrains or Almanachs that make up the Centuries. There are two possible cases. In the first, the Roman number points to the Century and the two or three following digits after a hyphen or dot refer to the quatrain. In the second case, an "A" is followed by four digits and no seperation. The first two digits refer to the year of the writing and the two following ones to the month. Digits number 00 stand for the entire year and 13 is an extra month.

IV-72 or 4.72

A6312

A6700

4th Century

Almanach of the year 1563

Almanach of the year 1567

72 d quatrain

General year

The year plus month quatrains are thought to belong to the 6th and 7th Century since near that many is missing in the original text. So, they may appear with two different numbers: Roman plus a two digits ranking as well as year plus month.

Unclassified quatrains

Sixty quatrains are still orphans - that is, they have not yet found their "Time and Region". A specific theme is devoted to them.

The total number of sub-themes is well over one hundred. So, it is preferable for comments to be inserted in existing themes and sub-themes. But if this is not possible, Citizens may request new sections providing they bring good arguments for it.
